Winter Absence

We just realized it's been a long time since we posted about our adventures, We've been busy with winter activities since winter doesn't end March 20th in Vermont.  Some exciting outside adventures included
Riding the chair lift by ourselves at camp at age 5 - Adrienne

Skiing the expert slopes for the first time - Jacob

Hitting cliffs in the woods on the first day of spring in sweet powder - Dad
So here it is - now the first day of spring in Vermont - March 20th - Dad and Mom went skiing (without us this morning - you would have thought that with us skiing the expert slopes and riding the chairlift by ourselves that we could have gone too -  but we had this thing called SCHOOL, no snow day today - we had one yesterday - in the winter)
After school, we went sledding

Adrienne thought the new sledding run was to fast - had the same face on as when she went down the log flume - so she stuck to the more gentle slope

Family Photo - first day of spring!

Baseball starts in just a few weeks so we got some spring training in!

Spring Training Vermont style
We promise that now that its "Spring" we will do more updates soon!

Day 7 Exploring New Mexico

Day 7!
We started the day with a drive up Sandia Crest - Mom has read about the tramway up - but it was $20 a person and she really doesn't like trams, she mentioned it to her cousin Chad who lives in Albuquerque and he told her about the way to drive up! It was great! We were higher than all the mountains around us!
We then went down the mountain and all the way across town to Petrogylphs national park. We hiked there and became junior rangers and then went to the Rio Grande Zoo, had lunch there and stayed at the zoo seeing the animals until it closed - we then drove the last part of route 66 on our trip - central ave, it's also the only place that route 66 crosses itself (learned that in oklahoma) we then went to mom's cousin's Chad's house, met his wife, daughter (our cousin!) and his in-laws and then we went out to dinner with Chad and Dacia (Chad's wife -we really liked both of them and talked their ears off) - then it was back to the hotel -we got back really late - about 8:45 and Mom said we had to get up really early to go to our plane - but I really wanted to swim - Adrienne stayed in the room and went to sleep but Dad and I went swimming until 10pm! and it was in ground indoor.outdoor pool!
at the restaurant at the top - over 10,000ft!

Top of Sandia Crest.

with some of the other mountains

Dad being silly - looks like he has a big smiley face.

Albuquerque - our hotel was down there.

pretending to eat the chili peppers

yummm...

Mom - is that a cactus? Can I touch it?

Becoming junior rangers - yes the sun was in our eyes.

A petrogyph!

Hiking at petrogyphs

Mom - same spot as the way up - we actually did hike all the way up to the top of the mesa.

At the rio grande Zoo

Polar bear at the zoo - we got to see him eat!

snow leopard

Adrienne and dad

A giraffe- not like Aunt Kristen gets to see them - but it was fun.

Us in Africa.....at the rio grande zoo, but mom hopes to take us to the real africa soon!

With the lioness and her cubs

Mom has a video of this she's going to try and upload later - but this ape played hide and seek with me and other games for a while... it was so much fun.

one place in the country that route 66 and route 66 cross each other.

Mom thought this was cool, Dad told her to stop being a tourist.

ZZZZ. after the great american road trip

A sleep at last - we headed home in the morning an all day trip with no pictures and temporarily missing luggage!
