Day 2 of the Great American Road Trip - October 14, 2012
We stayed in O'Fallon IL at mom's friends Elana's house - mom and Elana met 16 years ago backpacking in Europe, they met on a boat in the middle of the night on the Adriatic Sea and then travelled though the Greek Islands and Athens together for a week. They had only seen each other twice since then and for just an hour in Seattle each time. Elana has two kids Josh and Anna who are just a little younger than both of us.. Josh just turned 6 and Anna will be 3 in December.
We went to breakfast at Aunt Sue's parents house in IL and then went to this really cool museum in St. Louis called the city museum. It has slides and tunnels in the ceiling and trains, kids building areas and tunnels thought the air outside.. and and a 10 story slide inside - mom ended up testing a lot of her fears, Dad went with me though everything.. and then sprained his ankle really bad on the steps as we were about to leave. We went back to Elana's so dad could rest his ankle and we could play with the kids.
