Today we started our trip West. We left St.Louis in the late morning and headed throught the Ozarks. All the autumn color is peaked here now (it's already gone in vermont) and the skies are blue.. It was a long drive today - We stopped in the afternoon in Mansfield, MO, Mom has been reading us the little house series for the last year and Laura lived in Mansfield from 1894 - 1957 and she wrote all of her books from there. We went to the museum and saw pa's fiddle and other things and went through her house. Everything looks just like when she lived there ---- and a lot like great grandma's house.

After going to the "little house on Rocky ridge" we went to Branson Mo, it's a big tourist town -we could have found stuff to do for a week.. We had a huge great hotel room and went to starvin marvin's seafood buffett for dinner and then we went mini golfing. It was a really really cool course - with a giant volcano - except - Adrienne was petrified by the volcano and we had to calm her down for 5 minutes each time it went off. On to a new state for all of us tomorrow!
